XIANGTAN, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Autonomous delivery vehicles are rolling around the Xiangtan University campus in central China's Hunan province, which offer services directly to the dormitories, making it easier for students to send and receive packages.
Developed by Changsha Xingshen Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd, the vehicles have both single- and multiple-compartment lockers, and can carry up to 500 kilograms of goods, with a maximum speed of 40 kilometers per hour. Users can choose delivery time and place on their mobile phones and the vehicles will arrive precisely on time and at the locations selected by the users.
Equipped with the multi-source fusion positioning system and navigation technology, the vehicles can read traffic lights, automatically avoid obstacles and turn around when needed.
